Card Fronts to St. Jude’s Ranch for Children

THANK YOU! Thanks to all of you who saved card fronts.  600 card fronts have recently been sent to St. Jude’s and by the card fronts recently received, we can soon send some more.  St. Jude’s Ranch for Children is in Boulder City, Nevada.  It cares for the needs of abused, abandoned, and neglected children.  The children make new cards with the card fronts.  These cards are then sold and the money is used by the children to buy needed items for themselves or their cabins.

UNITED METHODIST STUDENT DAY

November 24, 2002, was United Methodist Student Day.  U.M Student Day offerings help undergraduate students who are attending United Methodist-related schools to receive scholarships.  Undergraduate and graduate students benefit from students loans.  Each year $50,000 is returned to annual conferences for merit scholarship awards to students of their choosing.

Trivoli UMC currently has no one attending a Methodist related school, but Pastor Joy was one of those chosen to receive help from U.M. Student Day offerings when she was in school.

Read Psalm 91 – One trait of a spiritually mature person is the ability to enjoy intimacy with God.

Psalm 91 is one of the most powerful, awe-inspiring Psalms in Israel’s hymnbook.  A believer who can read this psalm and not hunger to know God more intimately may need a spiritual pulse check!  The writer uses vivid imagery to describe God’s care for His children.  God is a strong fortress and He’s like a mother hen who hides her chicks from danger.

The writer’s world must have been as dangerous a place to be as the world is today.  This great psalm ends with God’s own declaration of his protection, provision and answered prayer -- three great reasons to thank God today.  This month let’s spend more time thanking God for the evidence of his love.  Give Him the Praise He Deserves.
